What was that saying….”Never say never…??”

I was contacted by a colleague who asked me if I were interested in co-authoring a book.  I’ve written one book, contributed to many, and written lots of articles.  There is a reason why I have only written one book:  it sucks.  I said to myself, "I’ll NEVER write another book."  Now someone remind me why I’m doing this?

T-Mobile’s Dash: Head-turning smartphone

I bought a Dash.  It’s AWESOME.  Its what a Blackberry wants to be when it grows up.  "Q" killa, it is.

I also bought a black Bluetooth earpiece and call it "The Black Beauty".  Once you put this phone in your hands, the energy flows out of the phone and into your hand compelling you to instantly and violently crave having one.

Zurich trip coming to a close

Had my first presentation today.  Rocked the house!

Oh, I should have mentioned earlier–when I *finally* arrived in Zurich, I go to the Lost and Found to retrieve my luggage as they were on the *first* flight.

Baggage Guy: "Halo. Sprechen sie Deutsche?
Me: "Um, no.  ¿Habla español?"
Baggage Guy: "Nein. Parlate italiano?"
Me: "uuhh. no.  But I can read it!"
Baggage Guy: "OH, you speak English!"

After our Abbott and Costello routine, the baggage guy tells me that my bags never made it to Switzerland.  They were still in London.  "So, I miss *TWO* flights and my bags aren’t HERE YET?"  I say incredulous.

"We will deliver them to you as soon as they arrive, which should be by tomorrow. Hopefully.  No promises."

The bags made it that night, actually.

I’m hoping to do some shopping here and get a REAL Swiss watch!

What do I have to do to appease the travel gods?

How does one appease the travel gods?

I arrived late and missed my first connection.  I was in the restroom when the announcement came for the next flight (which was delayed 30 minutes).  10 minutes after it left, I make an inquiry as to the status.  The concierge looks at me as if I had called his mother ugly and says, "the flight is gone.  It left at 15:47."

So now I’m waiting for the NEXT flight which leaves in about 1 hour.  I will go down NOW and camp out at the check-in desk…..meanwhile the person I report to is wondering why I haven’t logged in when I promised he wouldn’t even know I was gone….there are no RJ-45 connections here (only wireless) and I need to get to a wired connection for VPN.  I hope and pray the hotel has wired or I’m in BIG trouble.

I am the travel gods toy right now.

uhhmmm…..come again?

On my flight one of the flight attendants looked like an actress from a movie I had seen and I was racking my brain trying to remember.  It finally came to me and the more I looked at her, the more it looked like that it could be her.  I called her over and said to her, "Excuse me, but you look a lot like the actress in the movie "The Golden Child, with Eddie Murphy".  She says to me, "OH! Asia Carrera…she’s BEAUTIFUL.  Thank for the compliment, I wish I did look as beautiful as she."  hmmmm….I thought to myself….I thought her name was something else.  So now here I am at a computer terminal in the airport lounge and I look up "Golden Child" on IMDB.  The actress was Charlotte Lewis.  So now I look up Asia Carrera……..daaaaaaaaannggggg

I ain’t goin’ there.

Away and feeling the pain…..

The flight left PHX almost an hour late.  We arrive in London an hour and a half late and \i miss my connection.  So now \i am in the British Airways lounge trying to understand why the " and the shift key aren’t working <G>

Typing in passwords that use the @ symbol on an ENGLISH (UK) keyboard gives you a " and the shift key is a \.

<Sigh>

At least the lounge has tons of computer terminals.  I forgot my adapter in my checked luggage, so I can’t use my personal PC….<sigh>.
Calgon take me away………….
